The Four Seasons Tea Room

The Four Seasons Tea Room

Better to be deprived of food for three days than tea for one.. Ancient Chinese Proverb

Take the afternoon off and join us for tea. We're located in the quiet community of Sierra Madre, just minutes from downtown Los Angeles and Old Town Pasadena. Enjoy tea in one of our two tea rooms... or outside in the cool shade of our terraced patio.

Throwing a bridal party, wedding shower or some other important occasion? We welcome groups of up to 100 people. Your guests will enjoy a wonderful buffet of finger sandwiches, salad, scones and dessert. And for an extra charge, owner Ana Santo - professional pastry chef - will design a beautiful cake to suit any occasion.

Our tea menu changes seasonally. You might dine on scrumptious asparagus sandwiches in the wintertime... or tomato basil sandwiches in summer. Springtime brings fresh dill and watercress sandwiches, and what is fall without pumpkin bread for dessert?

Stop by and say hello sometime soon.

The Four Seasons Tea Room

Reviews - The Tea Tattler

You must visit this charming place just for the scones... the aroma from the oven can't help but whet your appetite when you walk through the front door. The scones are baked up fresh for you while you're taking tea. They're served warm from the oven, with the most wonderful whipped cream and raspberry jam. On a cool, spring afternoon these things can't be beat.

The usual fare is also served, with a menu that changes creatively with the seasons. Be sure to sign up on their mailing list so you'll be notified about their special holiday teas... Christmas and Valentine's Day to name a few.

This Spring, rumor has it that the owners will be opening the doors up to their lovely outdoor patio, complete with blooming vines and a trickling water fountain. Too chilly outside? Take it indoors to one of two tearooms, furnished with comfortable antiques and lace curtains. This is a great place for wedding showers and other celebratory occasions.

After tea, be sure to take a stroll through Sierra Madre where you'll find some very unique gift shops, Harmony Day Spa, a wonderful cooking store called Savor the Flavor, and Leonora Moss - one of the most unique flower shops I've ever had the pleasure of entering. Last but not least, don't forget to drop by the family-owned E. Waldo Ward & Son at 273 E. Highland Avenue for great homemade jams, marmalades and the like. You'll take a step back in time as you follow the dirt driveway past the Ward's house to the family store... city life will fade away, guaranteed... don't miss it!
