My daughter just wrote this store a thank you note for the most amazing cupcake cake design of a horse for her 10th birthday. The owners are so friendly and customer driven. I just ordered another cake for a baby shower and picked up some fantastic party favors as well.
Wonderful people make wonderful business!!
A really nice hole-in-the-wall cupcake place. The frosting wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, but actually complimented the cupcake itself.
Their cupcake-cakes, for all occassions, are really cute!!! No messy cutting of a normal cake, and very original.
My brother and I tried every single flavor with the minis, and have so many favorites. I loved it, and am definitely coming back!
I had a cupcake craving yesterday afternoon, so I decided to check out this little cupcake shop. It's nestled in a strip-mall type group of shops, so it's easy to miss if you're not watching. The ladies behind the counter were very nice and friendly, and offered to go over the flavors with me. I picked out five cupcakes, and all were great, with the lemon and vanilla being the two standouts. I'm taking away one star because I think the cupcakes are a bit small for $3.00 each, but besides that, they are great - the cake is soft and spongy, and the frosting has just the right amount of sweetness.
So, every day on my commute to a client's house, I've been passing by the construction of Polkadots. I couldn't wait for them to open up!
They opened up this past Monday (9/15/08). Unfortunately for them they're slightly hidden off the street and their sign is slightly small, but I definitely recommend trying to find this place (just north of Orange Grove).
I like Dots & Sprinkles...its definitely good and pretty. Polkadots is extremely yummy & pretty... So, so far..I'm a Polkadots fan!
The inside of the store is cute...small,simple, but cute. Because they just opened up, the girls in there (maybe owners?) were so eager, helpful, and sweet.
They've got regular cupcakes for $3.00 and mini ones dor $1.50 and unlike some other cupcakes places, you don't have to order the mini ones in advance.
We got some banana cupcakes, marble cupcakes, red velvet, carrot cake, and strawberry cupcakes all with buttercream frosting. You know how when you have a cake/cupcake and they don't use real butter in the buttercream frosting it just kind of tastes funky? Not here at Polkadots! They inform me its real butter and everything is definitely made from scratch. I definitely like their frosting better than Sprinkles or Dots so far! As for the cake part of the cupcakes...super moist and yummy! They also make cupcake cakes... So adorable!
Its a small hide-away cupcake store everyone should definitely come & try!
