Pro Fitness Network, located in Pasadena, California, offers personal and semi-personal training, kettlebell training, pilates, massage therapy, reflexology, acupuncture and nutrition counseling.

Our inspirational studio environment emphasizes safety, superb quality and value with every service we provide. We specialize in custom-designed programs that maximize results for your time and money. Our certified personal trainers and Pilates instructors will create a customized workout, specifically designed to achieve your individual goals and restore your mind and body's unique natural balance, inner peace and harmony.

Semi Personal Training:

The Semi-Personal Training is custom designed to meet your goals well within your budget. Pro Fitness Network trainers work closely with each client to create an optimum workout based on your age, ability, physical condition and lifestyle.
  
The reason our Semi-Personal Training is so successful, is that besides being affordable for everyone and offering personal attention - you also work side-by-side with small groups of other like-minded individuals who have made fitness a priority in their life. Working out along side other people with a similar interests creates an additional, energetic bond unlike anywhere else.

Personal Training:

Our personal trainers tailor each fitness program to your individual needs based on age, physical shape and life style. Our personal trainers will build your program with safety, knowledge and experience and gradually increase your fitness level one step at a time.   You can choose personal training as a one-on-one service with one of our experienced trainers or choose to train in a partner session with your friend. Either way you will receive plenty of attention towards your goals. We also offer budget friendly semi-personal training in a small group setting.
   

Kettlebell Training:

Proper kettlebell training delivers both resistance training and high intensity cardio vascular training in a quick, fat-blasting workout that gets results - fast!  Rapidly growing in popularity amongst general fitness enthusiasts and athletes. It's great for beginners, soccer moms, weekend warriors, and anyone desiring better fitness, weight loss and strength.   Used by the Russian military and Special Forces, the kettlebell (or girya) has been touted as the most effective, efficient piece of strength training equipment available. Proponents of kettlebell training suggest that it increases strength, power, speed, co-ordination as well as core stability.   Where dumbbells have been more commonly used for isolation drills in traditional Western weight training, kettlebell drills have historically focused on working many muscle groups in unison and are more convenient for explosive movement patterns.
   

PRO FITNESS NETWORKCarina Weston, a fitness authority who began her career in Pasadena, has been creating fitness programs for more then 20 years.
 
Born in Uppsala, Sweden, Carina has been active in sports her entire life. As a young girl, she competed in a number of sports including competitive cross-country skiing, soccer, ice-skating and running. She still continues to enjoy strength training, rollerblading and hiking.
 
Introduced to aerobics in Pasadena more then 20 years ago, she started her fitness career as an aerobics instructor and returned to Sweden to start her own business. At that time aerobics was unknown in Sweden. An innovator even then, Carina's business took off, and she was asked to set up a number of aerobics centers around the country. As a result of this success, she committed her career to fitness training and received her first level of certification before returning permanently to the United states in 1991.
 
Shortly after her arrival, Carina was nearly paralyzed in an accident that broke her neck in five places. Her commitment to health and fitness helped her overcome this devastating injury and inspired her to help others achieve their own training goals.
 
Today Carina and her twin daughters lives in Altadena where she is an active member of the community.
 
Carina has owned and operated fitness centers for more then 14 years, including Pro Fitness Network in Pasadena since 1991. She is certified as a fitness instructor with the International Sport and Science Association (ISSA).

Acupuncture

PRO FITNESS NETWORKBrenda B. Smith is a Licensed Acupuncturist. She specializes in Women Health and Stress Management and uses acupuncture and lifestyle counseling along with herbs and supplements to treat her patients. As an acupuncturist Brenda enjoys working with women’s hormonal imbalances such as PMS, menopausal syndrome, infertility and menstrual irregularities. Stress Management symptoms include headaches, digestive issues, neck, back and shoulder pain, insomnia, anxiety and depression.

Pilates is designed to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. It increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body's "core" or "powerhouse" region (abdominal and lower back).

    Ildiko Laszlo, Certified in Reflexology Ildiko was born in Budapest, Hungary. As a mother and artist, she has been using reflexology techniques to heal herself and her family for the past decade. Nutrition, herbal medicine and holistic health have predominated her adult life. She received her certification from the American Academy of Reflexology, at Yo San University a school of TCM in West LA, then began practicing an integrated method of foot hand and ear reflexology. Working with babies, children, older people, people with disabilities, also those with serious illness, Ildiko has trained to work with various conditions, including oncology, parkinson’s disease, diabetes, and fibromyalsia. She also practices Ayurvedic, a brisk and stimulating experience from an ancient Indian form of preventative health care. Metamorphosis, a gentle form of touch which works with the reflexes of the spine through the feet, hands and head, believing the spine carries the cellular memory of our time in the womb.

    Massage with Vanessa Ferandell-Villarino:

    Vanessa has been a massage therapist for 3 years, another talented graduate of the Hands-on-Healing Institute. She has a background in sociology, psychology, with an emphasis in child development. Besides being our newest addition to Pro Fitness, she also does chair massage for The Kneaded Experience, at the Whole Foods Market in Glendale on Sunday afternoons. She has a great intuitive touch and loves to help others through her bodywork. Her techniques are vast - from energy work to swedish massage to myofascial release. She is currently enrolled and studying in acupuncture school at Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica.

    Fitness Massage is a "whole-body approach" to bodywork based on structural integration. The massage will be geared to releasing chronic areas of tension and injury based on forms of Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Thai and Trigger Point therapy. Unlike a spa-type massage, very little lotion, if any, is used and a portion of the massage may be performed through the towel or sheet, Shiatsu-style. Some client participation (deep breathing, counter-stretching, etc.) may be suggested, if applicable.

    Julia Morichelli , the owner of JLM FITNESS, has over 22 years experience in fitness training, weight management and fitness management. She is a certified personal trainer through NASM and Apex Fitness, and was a national presenter and instructor for the Apex Fitness certification programs, as well. In addition to her ongoing consulting work, Julia has appeared on ABC 7 News, as a fitness and weight loss expert for their “Healthy Living” segments.     At your initial assessment, we will perform a lifestyle, nutritional an body composition assessment.

    We will discuss all your needs and goals. If you have a personal training program or your own workout, we will work with you and your trainer to create a nutrition program that optimizes the benefits or your workout. Sessions are available in peron or over the phone and via e-mail.
